Snow Canyon

Ever since coming down to St. George, Curtis and I have been wanting to go on a hike but we haven't had time to go until this weekend. Curtis really wanted to go to Zions but it is about 1 1/2 hours from here and since we are probably going to Zions this summer with my family, I suggested that we go to Snow Canyon instead since it is just 10 minutes from here and because we've never been there before. We are so glad we went! It was beautiful! We went on three different trails in the park and each one had unique scenery. We hiked about 5 miles all together and it wasn't too bad at all. Most of the trails stay pretty flat so they don't wear you out too bad. We wish we had more time to go again but this was our last weekend here in St. George, sadly. The weather was absolutely perfect, too, which made it all the more fabulous! We are really going to miss St. George (especially the weather)!

Last night, Curtis's sister Keri and her family stayed the night in St. George on their way to Disneyland. They came over for dinner and hung out with us for a little while which was so much fun! We miss everyone and we're excited to see our families next weekend when we stop by on our way to Sacramento!

Here are a few pictures from Snow Canyon:

These are from the Petrified Dunes trail, there wasn't much of a trail to follow, you took a trail for a little ways out to the dunes and then you could just climb over them and go where you wanted:

The Johnson's Canyon trail was the first one that we went on and it was our favorite:

The grass was starting to come out all along the trail and it was bright green. It was beautiful! It would be nice to come back in a few weeks and see the wildflowers when they come out.

The last trail that we went on was the Lava Flow trail, there used to be active volcanoes near by and there are lava rocks throughout the park.

  4. Thanks everyone! Curtis took most of the pictures. I'm still trying to figure out how to use our camera. I guess we need to go out more so I can practice.
